    Today is completely dedicated to the WYD Vigil, a long encounter with the youth at Campus Misericordiae; however, it is also the day of Lagieniwcki, saint Faustina Kowalska site. The Pope walked through the Mercy Door at the new shrine of Divine Mercy, and he celebrated the sacrament of reconciliation with eight young people speaking in Italian, French and Spanish. Before entering the shrine the pope greeted the thousands of youth who had been waiting for hours his arrival since the early morning. Later the pope arrived at the John Paul II Center where he celebrated mass with the clergy, women and men religious, consecrated people and Polish seminarians.     Awaiting the arrival of pope Francis, young people from all over the world opened officially the XXXIst World Youth Day on Tuesday, 26 July 201. They have arrived in Cracow a few days before and during the morning they had time for national meetings, visits to the city’s center and the splendid exhibition “Mary Mater Misericordiae” located at the Cracow National Museum. On the 26th everybody heard the horrifying news happened in a church of Rouen( France), all were shocked and prayed.   • “Launch ourselves in the adventure of Mercy”

    The second day of Pope Francis trip top Poland started with an “unscheduled event”.  Early in the morning , before leaving for Czestochowa, the pope went to visit Cardinal Franciszek Macharski who is very ill; he was successor of Woytila in Cracow, and he is loved deeply by the polish people. The trip continued toward the Holy Shrine of Czestochowa, where the Holy Father stayed silently in front of the image of the Black Madonna for a long time.  Then he concelebrated Mass with all the 130 Polish bishops and numerous priests; Polish civil authorities were also present and some hundreds of thousand faithful.  The thanksgiving mass was celebrated on occasion of the 1050th anniversary of  Poland baptism.     Message of Pope Francis for the 31st World Youth Day 2016 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Mt 5:7) Dear Young People, We have come to the last stretch of our pilgrimage to Krakow, the place where we will celebrate the 31st World Youth Day next year in the month of July. We are being guided on this long and challenging path by Jesus’ words taken from the Sermon on the Mount. We began this journey in 2014 by meditating together on the first Beatitude: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Mt 5:3). The theme for 2015 was: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Mt 5:8).
