3 September 2013. This week began with a loud call for peace in Syria made by Pope Francis. It will conclude with a day of prayer and fasting on 7 September. We would like to call to mind the Church in Syria and the young people who celebrated their WYD this summer in communion with the Pope. We have found pictures that were published in Facebook and that show the vitality of young Catholic Syrians. In spite of the difficult situation in which they find themselves, they responded to the Pope’s call to take part in WYD 2013, even if it was at a long distance from Rio.
